Kids Fishing Derby
Lebanon Kiwanis members get excited about supporting life-long hobbies, like fishing! The Kids Fishing Derby is one of the hallmarks of the Lebanon Kiwanis Club’s efforts to support local children, and this event reflects over 30 years of community service in promoting a fun family activity that has made for many a very memorable experience.

Registration begins at 8 a.m.
Kids ages 5 - 17 will receive a bucket filled with fishing supplies and swag from area businesses. A free lunch is provided for all, and kids will receive a free shaved ice treat from the Kona Ice Truck. All participants should bring their own fishing pole and bait and be accompanied by an adult.

Racing for Safety Bike Rodeo
Lebanon Kiwanians are thrilled to collaborate with the Witham Family YMCA, Boone County Health Department, and Riley Hospital to present the Racing for Safety Bike Rodeo. This event takes place during the Witham Family YMCA's Back to School Bash, giving children the chance to learn about bike safety and hone their newly acquired skills.

Lebanon Kiwanis Clean City Team
Lebanon Kiwanis members are passionate about kids, community, and our environment. Our club adopted Indianapolis Avenue as a part of the Help Make Lebanon: The Cleanest City in Indiana program. We bring our kids and invite our Service Leadership youth and adults to join us in working together to clean up our little piece of Lebanon.
Why do we need a Cleanest City Initiative? More than 51 BILLION pieces of litter land on U.S. roads every year. Litter decreases property values by 7%. Trash carried into storm drains contaminates our water. Litter clean-up costs $11.5 BILLION a year. (Source: Keep America Beautiful)
Top 20 Luncheon
The Kiwanis Club of Lebanon loves to celebrate youth! We co-host the annual Boone County Top 20 Luncheon to recognize the hard work shown by the outstanding seniors from Lebanon, Western Boone and Zionsville High Schools. We collaborate with the Lebanon Rotary Club, Thorntown Kiwanis Club and Zionsville Rotary Club to celebrate these accomplished students and their respective principals and guidance staff.
Kids Sack Lunch Program
Lebanon Kiwanians are passionate about serving kids in our community. For too many kids in Boone County the only meals they eat during the day are those provided at their schools. But what happens when school isn’t in session? What do kids eat during fall, Christmas, and spring breaks and during the long, summer vacation?
To fight food insecurity, we support the Shalom House Kids Sack Lunch Program with our talents and treasure. Each summer we make a $6,000 donation to support this program and spend a meeting packing sack lunches for more than two hundred local kids.

Salvation Army of Boone County Bell Ringers
Lebanon Kiwanians love to have fun especially when we're doing the most good! On the first Saturday of December, you can find us singing Christmas carols, dancing, and ringing bells with members from the LHS Key Club and LMS Builders Club at the Lebanon Wal-Mart. In 2025, we collected over $3,000 for the Salvation Army of Boone County during our eight-hour shift! Ding! Ding!
70th Anniversary Signature Playground Project
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the club, we partnered with the Lebanon Parks Department to install a new playground at Abner Longley Park. As of December 4, 2024, the long awaited playground is ready for play!
Abner Longley Park is located on the south side of Lebanon and is surrounded by low-income apartments, serving the most at-risk children in the community. Per the parks department, over 15,000 children (ages 0-18) visit Lebanon parks on an annual basis. The previous playground equipment was over 30 years old and although it has been well cared for and repaired many times over it needed to be replaced with modern and safe equipment.
The Kiwanis Club of Lebanon financially supported this project with a donation of $32,000, including a $10,000 grant from the Kiwanis Children's Fund.
